The Dallas Cowboys have made a move to address one of their biggest roster holes by acquiring wide receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Houston Texans, according to a reliable source. The trade is a sign of the Cowboys' commitment to improving their roster, and Cooks' addition should provide a much-needed boost to their passing game.

Cooks has established himself as one of the NFL's most productive receivers in recent years, amassing over 5,000 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns in his seven-year career. His speed and route-running ability make him a valuable deep threat, and he should be a significant upgrade over the Cowboys' current options at the position.

With Dak Prescott back at quarterback after missing most of last season with a devastating injury, the Cowboys are looking to compete for a Super Bowl this year. Adding Cooks to their roster gives them another weapon in their passing game and should help take some of the pressure off of Prescott.

While Cooks has been something of a journeyman in the NFL, having played for four different teams in the past four seasons, his ability to produce in different offensive schemes should make him a good fit in the Cowboys' system. Additionally, his relatively young age (28) means that he should have plenty of productive years left in his career.

One potential concern for the Cowboys is Cooks' injury history, as he has missed time in the past due to concussions. However, if he can stay healthy, there is no reason to believe that he won't be a key contributor to the Cowboys' offense this season.

Overall, the trade for Cooks is a smart move for the Cowboys, as it fills a significant hole on their roster and gives them another weapon in their quest for a Super Bowl championship. Fans should be excited to see Cooks suit up in a Cowboys uniform and contribute to the team's success this season.
